What Are Recurring Transactions?
Pro and Expert plan feature
WonderFunds automatically detects recurring transactions like subscriptions, rent, salary, and regular bills. This helps you understand your fixed costs and spot unexpected changes.
How Detection Works
WonderFunds analyzes your transaction history to find patterns:
- Same merchant name appearing regularly
- Similar amounts (within a small tolerance)
- Regular frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly)
Detection runs automatically after each upload, or you can trigger it manually.
Managing Recurring Groups
Confirmed Groups
When WonderFunds detects a recurring pattern, it creates a group. You can:
- Confirm: Mark the group as a known recurring transaction
- Dismiss: Tell WonderFunds this is not actually recurring
Monthly Total
The recurring page shows your total confirmed recurring expenses per month, helping you understand your fixed costs at a glance.
Examples of Detected Recurring Transactions
- Monthly subscriptions (Netflix, Spotify, gym)
- Rent or mortgage payments
- Salary deposits
- Insurance premiums
- Utility bills
- Phone and internet bills
